In Hollywood, it seems like everyone has tried some form of plastic surgery at one time or another. But for veteran actress Drew Barrymore, that’s never been the case! In a new interview, the 43-year-old said she’s never felt the need to alter her natural beauty or dabble in drugs because she has an “extremely addictive personality.”

“I’ve never done heroin,” she revealed in a new interview with Glamour. “And I don’t want to get plastic surgery because I feel like they’re both very slippery slopes. I feel if I try either, I’m going to be dead really soon.” And since Drew is also a mom to two young daughters, Olive Kopelman, 6, and Frankie Kopelman, 4, she always wants to set a good example for her girls.

“I feel aging is a privilege. It’s about how to do it gracefully, with humor, self-love, and a respect for the process, and that’s always been really important to me,” she said. “Then I started having girls and I thought, thank god these were my initial instincts. Now I can carry them out in an even more deep and profound way.”

Drew doesn’t want her daughters to get wrapped up in the Hollywood lifestyle that harshly judges women for their aging looks. “We’ve gone far too far with the whole thing, especially when people who are so young are doing it,” she said, adding that women her age “shouldn’t” feel pressured to get work done. Instead they should just embrace their natural beauty.

“I have dark circles under my eyes,” Drew shared. But that hasn’t made her want to listen to her dermatologist and “shoot some Juvederm up there.” Instead, Drew said she thanked her doctor for the tip and explained that she’s going to start “highlighting” under her eyes rather than turning to injections. “Not messing with my face or chasing some unnatural beauty is a standard I live by,” Drew gushed. You’ll always be gorgeous in our book, Drew!
