Donald Trump Says Daughter Ivanka Would Be Called “Totally Brilliant” If She Wasn’t a Trump
President Donald Trump can’t help but stick up for his daughter. During a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, July 18, the 72-year-old shared Ivanka Trump doesn’t get enough credit for her successes because her last name is Trump.
During the meeting, Ivanka discussed the new jobs initiative among other things, and when she was done, Donald praised her efforts.
“Wow, so if that were Ivanka Smith, the press would say ‘that was totally brilliant, we’ve never sen anything like that,’” Trump says in cabinet meeting.

He also noted how the media gives her a disadvantage. “Wow. So if that were Ivanka ‘Smith,’ the press would say that was totally brilliant,” he joked. “As Ivanka Trump they’ll say, ‘Oh, she was okay.’ He added to a smiling Ivanka, “That was really great, unbelievable.”
Donald and Ivanka, 36, have always been open about their close relationship. In a previous interview, the mom-of-two gushed about how much she’s learned from her dad. “My father has taught me to be brave, to think big and always do what I feel is right,” she once told El Comercio of her old man. “He has taught me to stay focused on the work that lies ahead of me and never give up.”
Perhaps that’s why she decided to step down from all her business responsibilities. “When my father takes office as the 45th President of the United States of America, I will take a formal leave of absence from The Trump Organization and my eponymous apparel and accessories brand. I will no longer be involved with the management or operations of either company,” she said after Donald won the election. “I’m going to be a daughter. But I’ve said throughout the campaign that I am very passionate about certain issues. And that I want to fight for them. So you know there’re a lot of things that I feel deeply, strongly about. But not in a formal administrative capacity.” We think Ivanka and Donald make a great team!
