When Dolly Parton called in to Watch What Happens Live recently to wish host Andy Cohen a happy 50th birthday, it seemed like a true case of stars aligning.

“Your Body Is a Wonderland” singer John Mayer, 40, a good friend of Andy’s, introduced the surprise call from the country queen, 72, who gushed, “I love you, Andy!” But the birthday boy used the time to encourage his friend and Dolly to make some beautiful music together.

“Hey Dolly, you and John Mayer are the two best singers out there,” he said. “You two should collaborate on something.” Now it seems they will! “John is doing whatever it takes to make sure he gets to work with Dolly Parton,” a friend of the musician exclusively told Closer Weekly.

“Working with a legend like Dolly is a dream come true and John was blown away to learn that Dolly not only knew his music, but she even told him that she was a fan. It’s a two-way lovefest,” the insider revealed. So, stay tuned!

While working with John would definitely be an exciting project for Dolly, the country star is, obviously, very busy on her own! The music icon recently announced her latest project is bringing a new TV series based on her life to Netflix. “As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music. I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix. We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations, and I want to thank the good folks at Netflix and Warner Bros. TV for their incredible support,” she said in a statement. We can’t wait to watch!
