A new Will & Grace reboot is officially in the works — and we couldn't be more thrilled!
In an exclusive new interview with Closer Weekly, Debra Messing candidly spoke out about the upcoming show and revealed the cast is "so excited" to bring their beloved characters back to the small screen.
"It comes as a complete shock to all of us," the 48-year-old actress said. "We realized we need to laugh and we need to make people laugh."

"We are all so incredibly grateful that it came together," she added.
Rumors first swirled last fall that Will & Grace — which originally aired on NBC from September 1998 until May 2006 — would be returning to TV. In September 2016, Debra and her co-stars Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally, and Sean Hayes reunited to film a 10-minute online special to encourage fans to vote in the presidential election.

Following the special's success, NBC announced the network would begin production on a ten-episode, ninth season of the hit sitcom to premiere during the 2017-2018 season. Filming on the Will & Grace reboot is set to begin this August.
While recently speaking with Closer Weekly, Debra also gushed about her 12-year-old son, Roman Walker Zelman. "He's a very deep-feeling, bright kid," the proud mom said. Debra welcomed Roman, her only child, with her ex-husband, actor and screenwriter Daniel Zelman.
