Courteney Cox Jokes She’s ‘Going Home’ While Paying a Visit to Monica’s ‘Friends’ Apartment in Awesome New Video
We don’t deserve you, Courteney Cox! The beloved actress has been blessing our social media timelines since she joined Instagram in January and in her latest awesome video, she paid a visit to her Friends character Monica Geller’s old apartment in New York City.
“Goodnight, guys, I’m going home,” the 54-year-old yelled as she walked away from the camera towards the Big Apple street corner used as the exterior of Monica’s apartment in the popular ’90s sitcom. Courteney made the video even more epic by editing the show’s signature scene change music into the clip. “The One Where My Rent Went Up $12,000,” she hilariously wrote in the caption. Take a look at the video Courteney shared below!
Even though that exact apartment — which is located on the corner of Manhattan’s Bedford and Grove streets in the West Village — was used for Monica’s apartment, the show never actually filmed there. In fact, the building was just used as an establishing shot location throughout the entire series.
Fans of the unforgettable sitcom could hardly handle their excitement watching Courteney briefly reprise her Friends role in the cute Instagram video. “You and the others made my day over and over again,” one user wrote in the comments section. “The one with me constantly crying because I want Friends part 2,” said another.
It’s been almost 15 years since the last episode of Friends aired and, since then, beloved fans have been dying for a revival. While no project proposals have been made — to our knowledge — the brunette beauty revealed last October that she’d “do anything to be in a room acting” again with former costars Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc.
“People ask us all the time, ‘Will we ever do a remake?’ That was a story about these group of people that are friends in their 30s who are finding themselves. I don’t know if there’s a way to redo it,” Courteney said at an event last fall, according to People. “I just don’t see it happening.” It looks like we’re going to have to keep crossing our fingers!
