Social media isn’t for everyone and at times it can be really stressful. That’s why Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure, 42, has decided to go into the New Year without the constant pressures of Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. She opened up about her social media hiatus in a new video that she shared via Instagram on Sunday, Dec. 23, and said that she hopes her break will help her become more centered in life.

“I’m taking a social media break for a few weeks to enjoy my family and friends over the holidays and be my most productive without the constant tug in the back of my mind wondering what everyone else is doing, what I should post next, and how to find the best light to do it,” she said in the caption. “I’m also going to use this time to keep Christ at the focus of Christmas.”

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance! I’m taking a social media break for a few weeks to enjoy my family and friends over the holidays and be my most productive without the constant tug in the back of my mind wondering what everyone else is doing, what I should post next and how to find the best light to do it 🤣. Thanks for the inspiration @danicamckellar ! I’m also going to use this time to keep Christ at the focus of Christmas and as I enter the new year! Wishing you all the BEST holiday!! See you in a few weeks! – And if you really miss me, just watch seasons 1-4 of @fullerhouse on @netflix , one of the 7238 @hallmarkchannel movies I’ve done or visit my website www.candacecbure.com 🎄❤️🎄for devotionals, inspiration you can trust and really cute t-shirts 😜. – Love you all and many blessings to you!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Candace noted that she got the idea from the 43-year-old The Wonder Years actress Danica McKellar. On the same day that Candace posted her video, Danica, 43, also announced that she’s taking a break from social media for three weeks. But unlike Candace, Danica actually does this yearly.

“I’ll be offline to spend quality time with my family… and maybe get some focused time to work on my next @mckellarmath book, too,” Danica wrote via Instagram. “As much as I LOVE being online with everyone, I value these breaks — and I recommend them, too! Unplugging from time to time is so good for the soul and for our relationships with family — especially our kids… even ourselves. 🙂So, MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I’ll see you guys mid-January!”

❤ Merry… Social Media Break! ❤ Yep, it's time for my yearly 3-week social media break. 🙏 I'll really miss interacting with you all! But starting *tomorrow,* I'll be offline to spend quality time with my family… and maybe get some focused time to work on my next @mckellarmath book, too. 😋 As much as I LOVE being online with everyone, I value these breaks – and I recommend them, too! Unplugging from time to time is so good for the soul and for our relationships with family – especially our kids… even ourselves. 🙂 So, MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'll see you guys mid-January! And… maybe consider unplugging yourself for part of that time? You might be surprised at what you learn, how you feel… and how you end up spending all that extra time you suddenly have. 😉 . . . #unplug #unwind #bepresent #behappy #socialmediabreak #socialmediahiatus #merrychristmas #happyholidays #happynewyear #hugs

Candace didn’t let her fans know exactly when she’ll be back online but she did give them some great activities to do if they just so happen to miss her. “Just watch seasons 1-4 of @fullerhouse on @netflix, one of the 7,238 @hallmarkchannel movies I’ve done, or visit my website www.candacecbure.com,” she said. At least now we have something better to do than just counting down the days until Candace gets back on the gram!
