Oh my Mimi! Mariah Carey brought the house down at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards with a performance ahead of getting the Billboard Icon Award.

The 49-year-old proved she still has star power to spare while taking on some of her biggest hits at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 1. Mariah sang “A No No,” “Always Be My Baby,” “Emotions,” “We Belong Together,” and “Hero” in a medley for the ages.

Mariah, who has amassed 15 Billboard Music Awards, also gave a shoutout to twins Moroccan and Monroe. The adorable kiddos were seated in the audience and they couldn’t help but dance along. Who could blame them, though, since they celebrated their eighth birthday on April 30.

“Icon? I really don’t think of myself in that way,” Mariah humbly said in a speech in which she thanked her fans and looked back on just how far she has come. “And to anyone who’s ever told me that a song I wrote helped save their life, I thank you. Because you saved mine, and I’ll be eternally grateful for that. I love you. Thank you so much.”

Previous recipients of this honor include Janet Jackson in 2018, Cher in 2017, Céline Dion in 2016, Jennifer Lopez in 2014, Prince in 2013, Stevie Wonder in 2012 and Neil Diamond in 2011.
