‘The Young And The Restless’ Star Kristoff St. John and Ex-Wife Mia Fight For Their Late Son Julian: “We Want Justice”
Following the tragic loss of their son Julian, The Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John and his ex-wife Mia St. John are determined to fight back and get justice.
In a wrongful death lawsuit filed the end of May, the St. Johns allege Telecare’s La Casa Mental Health Rehabilitation Center in Long Beach, Calif. were negligent and were not doing the mandatory check-ins on their son Julian.

“He was not being monitored like he was supposed to be and they falsified the records. They wrote that they were checking in on him, but obviously it was a lie because surveillance showed they were not watching him,” Mia tells Closer Weekly. “And even worse, they were still checking off every 15 minutes that he was awake and alert an hour and a half after he had already passed.”
Julian, a gifted artist, had been suffering from paranoid schizophrenia for years. His death, which occurred in November 2014, was reported as a suicide. The lawsuit states: “Had Defendants acted with even the slightest regard for Julian’s safety, he would still be alive today.”
Mia and her ex, Kristoff, have been gathering evidence since and are ready to submit their findings by the discovery period deadline on October 15.
The St. John’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, tells Closer Weekly, “We have information that this is not the only facility.”

To honor Julian’s legacy, Mia turned her son’s art studio into a program called Stone Art for all kids suffering from mental illnesses. The free program that’s funded by donations will be holding a charity event in December.

Mia says, “It’s just been utter devastation. We feel like our lives have been destroyed and the only thing I can do to keep living is to make sure that his death is not in vain and continue to help these kids. Otherwise, there’s no way I could go on and continue with my life.”
The trial is set to start November 2016. The WBC World Champion tells Closer, “We’re going to trial because we want justice. We don’t need the money. We just want justice for our son and we’re going to get it. This is a fight we will not lose.”
