Naomi Campbell doesn't have the best reputation in the modeling world with reports claiming the 43-year-old is a nightmare to work with, not to mention the 10 separate occasions she's been accused of assault.
But current colleague, photographer Nigel Barker, denies the British beauty is anything but kind.
"She is at the top of her game," says Barker, host of modeling competition The Face, which Campbell executive produces.
"It's complicated for her and she has to make tough decisions as does anyone in a managerial or executive role. But anyone who says she is difficult to work with - it's just not true."
And Barker's comments don't solely stem from his year working on the show with her. The fashion photographer says he's worked with the model for more than 20 years!
"She has always worked tirelessly and effectively and with all her heart and dedication, and has never missed a day," Barker shares.
"She is very, very kind and very loyal, she will take the cast and crew out to dinner, for a manicure, all sorts of things. She is very grounded and down to earth and very honest."
But the host admits her honesty may be what gets her into trouble so often. "Maybe she's too honest and that’s why she gets a bad rep," says the 41-year-old Brit, "but she's a wonderful person."
Barker started his hosting gig on The Face after he was let go from Tyra Banks' hit reality competition America's Next Top Model. He had served as a judge for 18 seasons and shares he was ready for something new.
"The opportunity to do The Face came around so quickly after ANTM ended and there wasn’t a doubt in my mind about doing it as soon as I looked at who was involved and seeing Naomi as executive producer," he tells In Touch magazine.
"It's Naomi Campbell! Of course [people] are going to watch."
