Actor Glenn Quinn portrayed Mark Healy in the hit series Roseanne from 1990 until 1997, but he sadly passed away just five years after the show ended.
And now that the sitcom is getting an exciting revival, many fans are wondering: how exactly did Mark from Roseanne die and how will he be remembered on the upcoming reboot? On Dec. 3, 2002, Glenn sadly passed away from an accidental heroin overdose. He was found by a friend on a couch in Hollywood at the time of his passing. He was only 32 years old when he died.

Throughout his long run as Mark on Roseanne, the actor hid his Irish accent the entire time! Quite impressive. In the show, he played Becky Conner's boyfriend (and later husband) and David Healy's brother (played by Johnny Galecki), and in the finale, we learn that Becky is pregnant with the couple's first child and they presumably live happily ever after. So sweetly enough, Mark will be remembered in more ways than one during the revival, set to premiere on March 27.
At the winter TCA event in mid-January, executive producer Bruce Helford confirmed to Pop Sugar that they would address that Mark dies off-screen before the events of the nine new episodes.
Although he won't be there physically, they'll mention him many times throughout the rebooted series. "From the writing standpoint... when you have a show that's so naturalistic, we had to deal with that and that Becky was going to be single," Helford shared. "We all had great affection for Glenn. We really wanted to say something. He comes up a couple times. It isn't just [the premiere episode]. He comes up a couple times in the course of the nine episodes." So sweet.
On top of that, Darlene (played by Sara Gilbert) and Dave name their child Mark after him (he was David's brother). "It allowed us to pay tribute to [Glenn] in the show," Sara sweetly confessed.
And star Roseanne Barr couldn't be happier to honor Glenn as well. "We all missed Glenn so much, because he was just a great part of the show, and it's not something we wanted to just gloss over," she said.
Similar to the show, the upcoming reboot is set to include original characters Roseanne, Dan (John Goodman), Darlene Conner (Sara), David (Johnny), D.J. Conner (Michael Fishman), Becky (Lecy Goranson), Jackie Harris (Laurie Metcalf), and the new role of Andrea, who will be played by Sarah Chalke. We can't wait to watch!
