If The View doesn’t feel the same lately, it’s because Whoopi Goldberg has been missing from the panel since February 5 due to pneumonia, according to fellow cohost Joy Behar. But fans are suspecting there is something more to all this and are becoming a bit worried about Whoopi, 63, and her health.

On February 20, Joy, 76, took some time while on the ABC program to inform the audience and fans everywhere why exactly the Ghost actress hasn’t been on the show recently. “She’s not feeling well,” she said. “She’s actually recovering from pneumonia. I saw her last night and she’s very funny still, and we had big laughs. She’s getting there, she’s on the mend.” But is Whoopi fighting something else?

“[The cast and crew] haven’t heard anything other than pneumonia, which at her age is bad enough in itself,” a source exclusively told Closer Weekly of Whoopi’s health. Fans of the Sister Act star took to Instagram upon hearing the news of her battling sickness to share their reactions and their words of love and support. “We miss you Whoopi. Please get back in that chair soon,” one person said on the platform, with another adding, “Miss you terribly. I hope you are recovering and will be back healthy and happy soon.”

While some folks apparently reached out for some help to figure out what exactly is going on with the comedian, as one fan chimed in with, “A tarot reader just said she’s in the hospital in critical condition. Hope she’s wrong. Get well, God Speed Whoopi. God Bless. Why don’t people get the pneumonia vaccine especially over 50?” And one viewer even had a conspiracy theory, reacting with, “I’m just saying, I started really thinking something serious. It started after Joy AGAIN trying to pacify us. When Joy was done, her face said it all and for me, she looked worried and concerned. Us View and Whoopie [sic] lovers are damned concerned. We’re f-in worried. Love and healing.”

There have been so many theories left and right that Whoopi’s own coworkers had to recently clear one up: that she was preparing to host the Academy Awards. “She’s not even well enough to host this show right now, let alone the Oscars,” Joy stated on The View before the awards show aired on February 24.

We are wishing Whoopi a speedy recovery!
