Oh no! Joining her cohosts on the April 8 episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg said that even though she has been feeling “much better” since facing double pneumonia and sepsis, she had to check herself into the hospital again at the beginning of April.

“I had a 24-hour bug, which landed me back in the hospital last week, which is why I missed y’all on Thursday,” the 63-year-old explained to the audience, adding that she is happy her illness “came and went.”

Whoopi also gave her fans an health update during the March 8 episode, after she spent one month away from The View to rest and get better. “Hey, yes, it’s me. I am here. I am up and moving around — not as fast as I’d like to be, but I am OK. I’m not dead,” the EGOT winner said in a video during the show. “Yes, I came very, very close to leaving the Earth. Good news, I didn’t.”

“Thank you for all of your good wishes and all of the wonderful things that people have been saying,” Whoopi continued. “Even people who are not huge fans of mine have actually said nice things about me. We all know that’s gonna change when I get back but, for right now, it’s brilliant. Thank you for everything.”

Whoopi’s brief encounter with death “really shook her up” and she has made the decision to get more involved with activism. “She’s made peace with some people and things from her past,” an insider recently revealed to Closer Weekly.Whoopi has always been grateful. She’s always wanted to be a force for change. Now her activism on behalf of those less fortunate will be at a higher pitch.”

Lucky for us, Whoopi hasn’t let her illnesses bring her down. She still continues to appear on The View whenever possible. “The only way it’s going to get better is if I begin, so this is my beginning,” the mom-of-one said during the March 14 episode of the talk show.

We’re glad you’re feeling better, Whoopi!
