Touching Photos Capture Actor Moments After He Learns Of Father’s Death

Photographer Jeremy Cowart recently shot the cast of the OWN network’s new series “The Haves and the Have Nots” and was particularly struck by actor John Schneider’s professionalism and talent in-front of the camera.

John is most well-known for his roles in the original “Dukes of Hazzard” and for playing Clark Kent’s father in the hit series “Smallville.”

But it wasn’t the goofiness of John’s cast portraits that made Jeremy want to share this story on his website. It was John’s vulnerability after the other cast members had walked away from set.

“Hey can you sneak a few more portraits of me?” the actor asked the photographer after everyone had left. “There’s something going on and I just need a photo.”

The star began weeping on-camera and after a few frames, Jeremy had to know what was going on.

“My Dad died about an hour ago,” John revealed. “I found out during our lunch break. And I wanted you to capture that for me.”

When looking through the frames, Jeremy shared that John pointed to the last one (seen below) and said, “That’s it. That’s my dad.”

“As a father myself, I wept for him,” Jeremy finishes. “We all did that day.”
