There’s no denying that Prince William is one handsome guy (especially with hair). In recent years, the genetically blessed royal has embraced his thinning hair — which, by the way, he totally pulls off. However, some have forgotten what Will, 35, once looked like with a head full of luscious locks.

Well, let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit William’s mane in all its youthful glory. At nine years old, little Will attended the 1991 "Joy to the World" charity concert alongside his late mom, Princess Diana, and younger brother, Prince Harry. At the time, the adorable elementary school student rocked full, flaxen-colored tresses.

Despite his questionable middle-part (we’ll forgive him because it was the '90s), a 16-year-old William looked like a missing Backstreet Boys member when he put his thick mop top on display while exiting London’s Clarence House in 1998.

Just three years later, William had blossomed into a grade-A hottie and basically looked like a GQ model. The 19-year-old looked particularly dapper (with that gorgeous blonde hair of his) during a royal engagement in Scotland in September 2001.

The dad-of-two — who shares Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2, with wife Kate Middleton — held onto his fuller follicles for nearly a decade longer. It wasn’t until 2008 that William was spotted sporting noticeably thinner strands. That Christmas, Queen Elizabeth’s grandson grew out his beard (a look we endorse, BTW), but did have less hair on top of his head.

His balding was also evident at his 2011 wedding to Kate, but that didn’t take away from his good looks. Last year, William rocked the hair he has left with style and grace.

In early January, William stepped out with a freshly-shaved head — and honestly, we're loving his new buzzcut! We think he looks regal and refined with a clean-cut ‘do fit for a king-to-be.
