Even though Prince Harry didn’t have “big” celebrations in store for his 36th birthday, the beloved royal couldn’t feel more blessed. The Duke of Sussex is “happy” about ringing in another trip around the sun at his new Santa Barbara home with wife Meghan Markle and their only son, Archie Harrison, an insider exclusively tells Closer Weekly.

“Harry [didn’t do] anything big for his birthday this year, but he’s totally cool with it,” the source shares following his special day on Wednesday, September 15. “He finally feels settled in [the] Montecito [neighborhood] and is happy to be celebrating turning 36 years old at his new home. He’s so proud of it!”

The handsome prince and the former Suits actress, 39, “invited a couple of close friends” over for a nice dinner. As for dessert, “Meghan baked a cake,” the source adds, noting they’ve wanted to host a “huge housewarming party with all [their] friends” since moving to Santa Barbara. “Unfortunately, that will have to wait until the pandemic is over,” the insider explains.

Harry and the Deal or No Deal alum — who tied the knot in May 2018 — first moved to the Montecito area in August. The longtime lovebirds were previously renting actor Tyler Perry‘s Los Angeles property since March. Following their move, a separate source told Closer that the $14.7 million property is ideal for baby Archie.

“The house has a Mediterranean vibe to it — French doors and archways and a pool,” the insider told Closer in August. “It’s beautiful and spacious, but not too over-the-top. It’s the perfect place for Archie to grow up.”

According to the source, the proud parents’ “gated home” is secluded and offers tons of privacy. “It’s much more private than Tyler’s house, which has enabled them to cut back on security costs,” the insider added.

Since putting down roots with his stunning spouse and adorable son, it appears Harry is having a good time. Considering the doting dad was “extremely unhappy” in L.A., he’s making sure to embrace this new chapter in his life.

“Harry doesn’t know the area well at all, but so far so good,” an insider told In Touch Weekly. “Santa Barbara is more his scene than L.A. It’s peaceful and chill. He has the freedom and space he needs.”

Meghan — who is a California native — feels the same as her hubby. While chatting with Gloria Steinem for a sit-down interview in late August, the Hollywood alum gushed she’s happy to be home “for so many reasons.”

We can’t wait to watch them make more memories in their new abode!
