When newlywed couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a cuter than cute kiss at the polo on Thursday, July 26, the adorable moment gave us major royal déjà vu because Prince Charles and Princess Diana once similarly smooched at a polo match, too!

Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, made headlines when they stepped out to attend the Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup in Windsor, England earlier this week. But it wasn’t just Meghan’s gorgeous denim dress designed by Carolina Herrera that got royal fans talking.

When the Duke of Sussex’s team celebrated their polo victory — he and the other Sentebale St. Regis players won 5-4! — following the match, Harry unexpectedly turned to his wife and gave her a sweet kiss while the two stood together on the trophy podium.

The moment was totally reminiscent of all the times Princess Diana cheered on her husband, Prince Charles, at polo matches during their royal marriage. Back in June 1987, the late Diana was famously photographed giving Charles a cute smooch after he won a match at Windsor, England’s Guards Polo Club.

Meghan’s polo outing isn’t the first time the Duchess of Sussex has been compared to her late mother-in-law, Diana. In fact, a royal source previously told Us Weekly that Harry was attracted to Meghan’s interest in humanitarian work because his mother shared the same passion. “One of the things that Harry fell for in Meghan early on in their relationship is just how empathetic and compassionate she is,” the insider shared.

“Meghan wants to make a difference in the world. It’s one of the reasons she was so keen to get started with her charity work as soon as she married Harry. This is her life now… She’s found her true purpose,” the source added.
