Age is just a number for Patti LaBelle!
During a recent concert, the 72-year-old singer revealed she has no plans to slow down or retire anytime soon. "I love performing, I'm not tired of it at all," Patti told fans onstage at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on Sunday, May 7.
"I am still moving like a woman should at my age," she continued. "There's nothing in the future for me to say stop."
Patti first rose to fame in the early 1960s as the lead singer of the group Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. After the trio disbanded in the mid 1970s, Patti began her successful solo career and later released hits including "You Are My Friend" and "If Only You Knew."

During her later years, Patti starred on her own lifestyle TV show, Living It Up with Patti LaBelle and competed on Season 20 of Dancing with the Stars. She additionally had a cooking channel series, Patti LaBelle's Place, and guest-starred on an episode of the hit musical drama Empire.
Patti most recently released her first-ever jazz album, Bel Hommage, through her own record label, GPE Records. "I'm just happy to be thought of as a legend," Patti said. "I don't want to abuse that honor."
Though Patti has reached mega showbiz success, she's been a bit less lucky in love over the years. In 2003, she divorced her husband, Armstead Edwards, after 34 years of marriage.

But, in a recent interview with Closer Weekly, the "On My Own" songstress revealed she's eager to date again! "Would I be open to dating again? Of course! I’m not dead!" she said.
So, does that mean Patti is online dating? "No way! I don’t even have a cellphone!" she told Closer. "I’m not looking, honey. If it’s in the air and it feels right I’ll know it."
