Meghan’s Mom Doria Flew To London For Her Daughter’s First Charity Palace Party — See the Pics!

She’s such a supportive mama! Just days after Meghan Markle‘s mom, Doria Ragland, was spotted catching a flight from LA to London, the 62-year-old accompanied her famous daughter and her husband, Prince Harry, as Meghan hosted her first charity party at Kensington Palace on Thursday, Sept. 20. 

The special event was held to celebrate the publication of Meghan’s new charity cookbook, Together: Our Community Cookbook. For the project, the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex collaborated with a group of London women who suffered after the Grenfell Tower tragedy to create a 50-recipe cookbook.

“Together is a cookbook but it’s also the story of a west London Community who gathered together in a kitchen and discovered the healing power of sharing food,” Meghan — who is “passionate about food and cooking as a way of strengthening communities” — said in a promotional video for the book released earlier this week. 

The cookbook additionally features a foreword written by Meghan, in which she writes that the kitchen “is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry, and cook together.” During the Kensington Palace event on Sept. 20, Meghan also told guests that the Together project has been a “tremendous labor of love.”

She continued, “I had just recently moved to London and I felt so immediately embraced by the women of the kitchen. Your warmth and your kindness, and also to be in this city and see in this one small room how multicultural it was.”

“I felt, on a personal level, so proud to live in a city that can have so much diversity. That there are 12 countries represented in this one small room, is pretty outstanding,” Meghan continued. 

We’re sure Meghan was delighted to have her beloved mom, Doria, by her side at today’s Together event especially since the Duchess reportedly “draws a lot of strength from her mother.” Meghan’s longtime friend and makeup artist Daniel martin recently told People, “Doria is classy, chic, and confident, but not unapproachable. I definitely feel Meghan gets a lot of that from her mother.”
