Most little girls dream of life as a princess — and Meghan Markle was no exception as a child. The only difference is the 36-year-old actress is making her dream a reality by marrying Prince Harry in May 2018. According to Katie Nicholl's new book — Harry: Life, Loss, and Love — Meghan was borderline obsessed with the royal family when she was younger.
Apparently, she used to study life at Kensington Palace and even watched the late Princess Diana and Prince Charles' wedding all the time on videotape. In fact, she was so into the royals that her friends always gifted her British-themed presents. Ninaki Priddy, one of Meghan's childhood pals explained, "She had one of Princess Diana's books [Diana: Her True Story] on her bookshelf. I know the royal family was something she found fascinating."
But honestly, who wasn't enamored with the royal family as a kid? And, frankly, who isn't at least a little enamored with the royal family as an adult? It's completely normal that a young Meghan would look up to Princess Di. But, the irony that she will soon also be a part of the royal family seems too perfect. We're sure she never imagined that she would not only marry Harry but also become beloved by the world. Life & Style recently revealed that Meghan is the new most popular royal, a title that once belonged to her pregnant future sister-in-law Kate Middleton.
"Meghan receives around 500,000 letters from fans a month," the source revealed. "She's receiving so much fan mail that she’s hired her own assistant to help go through it all. Everyone wants a piece of Meghan. Her assistant is keeping busy helping her organize her hectic new schedule." Can Meghan's story get any more perfect? We can't wait to watch her happily-ever-after!
