There’s no better feeling than crossing something off of your to-do list! On Monday, June 17, spouses-to-be Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp were photographed running errands in New York City in their casual attire. After all, being comfortable is important!

John, 67, threw on a pair of dark sunglasses and shuffled through the crowded city streets with a pair of brown pants and leather shoes. Meg, 57, was also spotted in the city wearing a pair of denim blue jeans and a simple black top. Occasionally, the You’ve Got Mail actress steps out in the Big Apple looking all dolled up with her husband-to-be, but this time she and John decided tone it down for the day to get their errands done.

Since the couple announced their engagement, they’ve been getting so many congratulatory messages from all of their friends — including Meg’s ex-husband, Dennis Quaid. “I’m so happy for them, I really am,” he previously gushed to Us Weekly. “Love is always a great thing, you know?”

Even though Dennis is happy Meg has moved on and has found love again, he once admitted that their divorce almost made him lose track of who he is.

“I think what divorce does is, it takes away your identity,” he told The Sunday Times. “It’s like death. Your identity is wrapped up in the relationship and if it’s not going to be there … who are you? Aren’t the most stressful things in life meant to be the death of a family member and moving house? And then there’s divorce, which is death and moving.”

As far as wedding planning goes, John is making sure he doesn’t leak any details to daughter Teddi Mellecamp because, apparently, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star can’t be trusted with a secret.

“You think that they’re involving me in the planning?” the 37-year-old reality TV star dished to Page Six. “One, I’m on Real Housewives. Two, I’m a loudmouth. Three, like they’ll probably tell me the day before, like ‘Show up’ and do not tell me why. They’re very private. Me, not very much.”

Meg and Dennis’ only son, Jack, 27, is also happy about the engagement. “I couldn’t be happier for both of them,” he told Page Six in April. “It’s amazing.” We couldn’t agree more!

Teddi also gets along really well with Meg. “When you think of Meg Ryan, she’s like all those things you want her to be,” John’s daughter gushed. “She actually is that person … you know, I just think Meg’s an amazing person. She’s kind and she’s smart and she’s funny and she’s one of those people that when you’re talking to her, she really listens.”
