In a candid new interview, Katie Holmes revealed her 10-year-old daughter was "hurt" that Donald Trump became president over Hillary.
"I thought Hillary was going to win this year, and it was such a… it just hurt so badly when she didn’t. And I know that it hurt my child so much as a 10-year-old, and it really made me think, 'Oh we have a lot… a long way to go as women,'" the 38-year-old actress told Jenna Bush Hager during a SiriusXM Today show radio special on Wednesday, March 29.

"We have to raise our girls to be very strong, not just for themselves, but to open the doors for other people," Katie added.
Katie welcomed Suri, her only child, with ex-husband Tom Cruise in April 2006. The former couple were married for six years from 2006 until 2012.
Earlier this week, the Dawson's Creek star took to Instagram to share a new photo of Suri with her more than 790,000 followers. In the black and white snapshot, Suri can be seen holding a baby kangaroo as her famous mom looks at the camera with a big smile.
"Beautiful ladies," one of Katie's fans commented on the pic with another adding, "Suri is a little lady — she's growing up so fast!"
In another recent interview, Katie similarly opened up about her daughter — and revealed she is more dedicated than ever to being a good parent to her little girl.
"This business is so unstable, and you never really know where you’re going to be… My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now," she said.
"It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed," Katie added.
