What a beautiful, touching moment! Kathie Lee Gifford debuted a new song on the Today show on Thursday, Oct. 12, and it left us in tears. The morning show host worked with country musician Brett James to write "He Saw Jesus," a heart-wrenching ballad about her final day with late husband Frank Gifford, who passed away two years ago.

Kathie Lee stayed strong as she sung the vivid details about how the day started normally with coffee and makeup before she found her beloved husband on the floor. However, thanks to her faith, she was able to get through it and turn his passing into a positive thing. “No I didn’t lose him, I know right where he is. ‘Cause he was never really mine, no he was always His,” she sang as her voice trembled and tears welled in her eyes. “And though I miss his kisses, I can’t fill that empty space, it helps when I remember that sweet look on his face when he saw Jesus.”

“I hope it brings hope to people,” she explained before her beautiful performance. “So many people loved Frank. So many people still do. I wanted to honor his memory with it, but I also wanted it to do some good in the world." To help others in need, Kathie Lee is donating the iTunes proceeds from the song to international relief charity Samaritan's Purse. What an inspiration!

Kathie Lee lost her beloved husband to natural causes in August 2015, just one week before his 85th birthday. Kathie Lee stood by Frank's side for 29 years, through his careers as a football player and sports commentator and a devastating affair. It's so sweet that two years after his death, she still thinks of him daily and wanted to find a new way to honor his memory. We can't think of a better tribute!
