At age 51, Kate Walsh has never looked better! During a new interview with Stylish magazine, the former Grey’s Anatomy actress dished on her best anti-aging beauty tips and revealed that having a positive outlook on life can not only change your mindset but your appearance as well.

“I try to be happy and appreciate everything,” Kate explained to the outlet. “We can’t expect ourselves not to get stressed, but I try to focus on how quickly I can recover from it and get into a different frame of mind.”

And if Kate does get stressed out, she revealed that she has a list of go-to products that keep her looking amazing no matter what. “I have dry, sensitive skin throughout all of the seasons, so I am very excited that Vaseline came out with the new Clinical Care Line,” she shared. “They use a skin barrier repair complex that locks in hydration with different kinds of glycerins and I saw results immediately.”

When it’s time to go to sleep, Kate shared that she has a nighttime routine that she likes to follow that keeps her feeling relaxed. “I’ll turn my device off an hour before bed and I just found out about the option on my phone that says, ‘Turn off your apps’ and I’m so into it. I cheated a couple of times and was like, ‘I need to open up Instagram once more,’ but I love it because it’s hard to manage so much stimulation and shut your brain down and quiet the mind,” she said.

Writing has also helped the actress to have a healthier state of mind before going to bed. “I write at night to empty out my brain and it helps in terms of sleep, health, and self-care. I’m also a big fan of hot baths,” Kate continued. But her most important beauty tip is to always be positive.

“Even if I wake up in the darkest mood ever I’m like, ‘Today is a perfect day.’ When things get really crazy, busy and I get really stressed, I start to think about all the things that I love,” she said. “People are like, ‘You look good.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m just so happy.’ I feel my best after I get a good night’s sleep, when I’m in New York, walking my dogs, hanging out with my friends, having a nice cup of French pressed coffee with heavy cream or going to work out. I have my regular routine and I love it!”
