According to the Kensington Royal Instagram, “The new @afnccf Centre of Excellence brings together for the first time under one roof experts and leading practitioners in neuroscience, mental health, social care, child development, research and education, alongside children, young people and their families.”

This centre marks ” The Duchess of Cambridge’s continued desire to draw attention to child mental health issues and the importance of early intervention, and working with the whole family, can make to those in vulnerable situations,” the caption continued.

“Her Royal Highness is keen to draw attention to the ways in which this charity is working to lead a step change in children’s and young people’s mental health care,” the post explained.

The mother-of-three also took some time to give a speech and pay tribute to everything everyone has achieved, before unveiling a plaque.

“We are all here today because we care so much about transforming the mental health of children, young people, and their families,” she began.

Kate also touched on the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anxiety she suffered from a childhood experience, which resulted in her being excluded from school and making attempts on her own life. “I have learnt so much about early childhood development and the importance of support for parents through your work here at the Anna Freud Centre. This is something I really do care about,” she continued.

“The ambition for the new Kantor Centre of Excellence is hugely inspiring,” Kate said during her speech. “The bringing together of research, education, practice and policy, all in one place, will take Anna Freud Centre’s mission to the next level. It is testament to what can be achieved when people work together to realize a shared vision.”

“Thank you all for playing your part in creating this amazing new facility,” she concluded. “I am delighted to be here and hugely proud to share this moment with you, and to open The Anna Freud Centre’s National Centre for Excellence.”
