To say that Kate Hudson is excited over the birth of her first daughter, Rani Rose, is an understatement. The 39-year-old mother welcomed her first baby girl on Oct. 2 alongside boyfriend Danny Fujikawa and “can’t stop smiling,” a source told People. “She’s always wanted a daughter so this is really a dream come true,” the insider said.

Kate is also a mom to two sons: Bingham, 7, from her relationship with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy and Ryder, 14, from her marriage to ex-husband Chris Robinson. Kate may be over the moon, but it seems as though she is not the only one! “Her big brothers are so excited — they’ll be so protective and sweet to her always,” the insider added.

Kate posted the first photo of her beautiful daughter on Instagram just four days after announcing that she had arrived. “Our little rosebud,” she wrote in the caption. The photo showed her daughter swaddled in a blanket with a pink hat adorned with a bow on her head — all while sleeping like an angel.

On the day of her arrival, Kate posted an Instagram photo collage announcing that her daughter was born. In that post, Kate explained the origin of her unique name. “We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa,” Kate said in her post. “Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honor.” Together, Kate and boyfriend Danny chose their daughter’s full name to be Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa.

The insider also told People that Kate and Danny are not only overjoyed about bringing their first daughter into the world, but for bringing their first child in together. “She and Danny are great.” the source stated weeks before Hudson gave birth. “Kate is bubbly with excitement every time she talks about Danny and how they are having a family together. She is crazy about Danny.”
