If you can take credit for Meghan Markle‘s acting career, then you’re sure to have bragging rights for the rest of your life! Actress Julia Roberts did just that when she recently reflected on a 2017 Glamour interview that said she was the reason the new royal originally wanted to pursue acting.

“I am just going to be floating on that all night!” the 51-year-old actress told People at the recent premiere of her new movie, Ben Is Back. In the article, Meghan named Julia as one of her top 10 female influences along with novelist Toni Morrison and her mother, Doria Ragland.

“She was the first person I saw onscreen and thought, ‘That looks like so much fun; I wanna do that.’ When I was younger, someone once told me, ‘You kind of look like Julia Roberts in profile.’ It was the best compliment of all time,” Meghan said in the article.

Meghan, 37, added that her mom was also someone she looks up to because of her “caregiving” personality. “My mom’s a yoga instructor, but she does social work, as well, and she works specifically with the geriatric community,” she shared. “For me to watch this level of life-long sensitivity to nurturing and caregiving, but at the same time my mom has always been a free spirit.”

Meghan continued, “She’s got dreadlocks and a nose ring. She just ran the LA Marathon. We can just have so much fun together, and yet, I’ll still find so much solace in her support. That duality coexists the same way it would in a best friend.”

This year, it’s been heavily reported that Doria will be spending Christmas with her daughter and the royal family. “[Queen Elizabeth] wants Meghan to have her mother there, especially as she is pregnant,” a source previously told Grazia. We bet this Christmas will be one to remember for Meghan and Doria!
