John Krasinski Gives Sweet Shout-Out To Wife Emily Blunt And Their Kids In Critics’ Choice Awards Speech

Could John Krasinski and his wife, Emily Blunt, get any cuter?! When John, 39, won the Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie award for his thriller A Quiet Place at the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday, Jan. 13, he gave Emily, 35, and their two kids an adorable shout-out for making the movie a success.

“I got to make a movie about a love story, and a love letter to my kids and I got to do it with the love of my life by my side. So, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t get much better than that!” he gushed on-stage with his wife standing by his side. John also thanked his fans for enjoying the first movie that he directed and starred in with Emily.

“I just wanted to say thank you to all the incredible kindness that has been shown to this film — the critics, but most of all, everybody that has seen and loved this movie,” he said. “It means the absolute world to our crew and to our cast and to no one else more than me.” After his speech, John adorably gave Emily a big hug before the two walked off-stage together — so cute!

During a previous interview with HelloGiggles, John explained why A Quiet Place was so special to him and his family. “This is truly a story about, ‘What would you really do for your children in order to protect them?’ The family stuff is so emotional for me,” he said, and Emily agreed.

“The character is so close to home for me. That’s what I want for my kids: to infuse their lives with happiness and protect them at all costs. What this mother experiences would be my deepest fear. So, it was very personal. I think there was so much we could draw from,” she shared. Emily and John are proud parents to two daughters, Hazel Krasinski, 4, and Violet Krasinski, 2.
