Just a few days after losing his close friend Kimmy Goodwin, Donny Osmond has opened up about his brother Jimmy Osmond‘s health struggles. The “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” singer took to Instagram to wish Jimmy a happy 56th birthday as well as to give fans an update on how he’s doing.

“As many of you may know, my sweet brother Jimmy has faced difficult health setbacks this year with his recent stroke,” Donny, 61, captioned a sweet throwback pic of when they were young boys. This past December, Jimmy suffered a stroke and was hospitalized after a performance as Captain Hook in Peter Pan at the Birmingham Hippodrome in England.

He has always been a source of inspiration to me. But now more than ever, it’s humbling and inspiring to watch Jimmy face a difficult road of #recovery with optimism, hope, dedication and resilience,” Donny added. “I’m so happy with his progress. Your thoughts and prayers are really working miracles. #HappyBirthday, my dear brother Jimbo. I love you.” So sweet!

Fans of the former teen idol didn’t hesitate to send their comforting wishes his way. “Happy Birthday Jimmy. Sending healing prayers and for a speedy recovery. Praise God for his love and blessings,” one fan wrote in the comment section of Donny’s post. “Get well soon Jimmy. Keep smiling and hang on in there. Sending love,” penned another.

Jimmy’s unfortunate stroke following Christmas was not only a huge scare for the famous family — but for fans, too! In early January, Marie Osmond revealed how her brother and the rest of the brood was holding up following a slew of health scares that the Osmonds were dealing with.

“My brother Jimmy is doing ok, he had a stroke. It’s been a crazy year for my family,” the 59-year-old beauty told host Andy Cohen during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “My brother [Tom Osmond] had a quadruple bypass [surgery], my brother Virl [Osmond] had a stroke, Jimmy had a stroke, Donny had shoulder surgery. [Jimmy] is doing ok, we’re praying for him.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy and the rest of the Osmonds!
