We can’t seem to stop finding reasons why we love Jennifer Garner! The 46-year-old actress completely embarrassed her son, Samuel, when she attended his 7th birthday party earlier this week dressed up as a character from How to Train Your Dragon. Although Jennifer wore the right attire to the movie-inspired celebration, she admitted via Instagram that her son didn’t find her costume to be very funny.

“Well, guess what. It turns out 7 is the age my kid stops thinking it’s cool when I dress up for the party,” she hilariously captioned a photo of herself dressed up as character Astrid Hofferson while holding a Toothless-themed birthday cake. To look like the fictional character, Jennifer painted her face and wore a fur shawl and boots with a leather skirt that she had on top of her leggings.

“#youngestchild #firsteyeroll 🙄#anyoneneedanAstrid 😬👵🏼,” she included in the caption before tagging actress America Ferrera, who voiced Astrid in the DreamWorks film. And once America saw Jennifer’s funny Instagram post, she shared Jen’s photo to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Ahhhh!!!! Yeeeeessss!!! AMAZING @jennifer.garner as ASTRID!!”

Although Jen reportedly told Heat magazine in a previous interview that her family is “a lot like most families,” she may want to just wear her regular clothes to Samuel’s next movie-themed celebration. “I love the laughter,” she apparently told Heat about hanging out with her family. “Family is very important to me.”

Jen also tries to teach Samuel and his two sisters, Violet, 13, and Seraphina, 10, that family should always be more important them than material possessions. She does this by occasionally taking them back to her family farm in Oklahoma. “I want them to learn that we don’t need all kinds of stuff to be happy,” she admitted. “And this is the perfect way to teach them that.”
