As far as ’90s hairstyles go, Jennifer Aniston‘s voluminous “The Rachel” haircut from her Friends days was definitely the most coveted look of the decade! Thanks to Chris McMillan — who styled Jennifer’s hair on the iconic sitcom — every girl wanted to be Rachel Green. But sadly, when Jennifer recently appeared at the InStyle awards to honor Chris, she said that the haircut was so hard to execute that even she couldn’t recreate the look.

“I got that haircut and was like, ‘Wow this is amazing,’ and then I was totally left with this frizzy mop on my head because I had no idea how to do what he did,” she revealed during her speech. “Nobody seems to know how to do what Chris does. And I figured out that’s called creating job security.”

At the event, Jennifer presented Chris with the Hairstylist of the Year Award. The pair has worked together for two decades and, during that time, they became close friends. According to People, Jennifer, 49, credited Chris for making her look so phenomenal in all of the projects that they’ve worked on together.

“Aside from all of the amazing work that we’ve done, the jobs, the trends, the hairstyles that we’ve created, the things that always meant the most to me is how much you’ve always been there for me and I’ve been there for you,” Jennifer noted. “We literally saved each other lives and hearts many, many, many times, and I mean that literally and figuratively.”

“I sometimes wonder if Chris is more of an undercover healer than a hairdresser. He just makes everyone feel better as much as look better,” she added. “The beautiful thing and this really says it all, is that he makes everyone feel as important as the next person, no matter who you are.”
