She’s taking the stage! Jenna Bush Hager has always had a childhood dream of starring on Broadway, and on Thursday, Nov. 15, she finally made that dream come true. The Today co-anchor made her debut for a special one-night performance in Chicago in NYC part of the morning show’s special where the stars of the series go out and chase their childhood dreams.

“This is my first time on the Broadway stage. I’ve been dreaming of this since I was a little girl in Dallas, TX. I hope I have my lines down,” the 36-year-old revealed in a segment on the talk show prior to taking the stage. “My mom would take me every year to try out for the role of baby Cosette in Les Mis. I never made the cut — until now,” she joked.

While backstage before it was her time to get onstage and introduce the production to the excited audience, she admitted she was experiencing a bit of stage fright. “Dreams do come true! And the truth is when dreams do come true, it’s a little scary,” she shared before the curtain opened. “I’m nervous!”

Jenna’s fierce costume consisted of a black lace top, a corset, Spanx, and boots, a look she admitted: “took some getting used to.” However, she proudly wore it for the opener, her acting scene, as well as her “Razzle Dazzle” dancing number. In our opinion, she nailed all three of her appearances on the show!

Before she knew it, the curtains closed and her time on Broadway (for now!) was complete. “Just like that, I was razzle-dazzled by Broadway,” Jenna confessed. “Even better than in my dreams.”

Prior to the show, she received flowers from her husband, Henry Hager, and was presented with red roses after the finale.  She gushed of the experience, “I feel like this is where I’m meant to be.”

Here’s hoping we’ll get to catch Jenna on Broadway again soon! But if you want to see another Today star on Broadway today, be sure to check out Al Roker in Waitress.
