Not a day goes by that Jenna Bush Hager doesn’t think of her late grandfather, George H.W. Bush. The 37-year-old recently paid tribute on Wednesday, June 12 — which would have been the former U.S. president’s 95th birthday.

“Happy Birthday dear Gamps! Today: I imagine the empty chairs next to you filled with those you love,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of George sitting next to his great-granddaughter, Mila. She then referenced her grandfather’s late wife, Barbara Bush, who died just a few months before him.

“Gans, no doubt next to you,” she said. “Holding your hand. Love you more than tongue can tell. ❤️.” The Today cohost’s fans appreciated the sweet post so much that they took to the comments section to share a few words about the beloved republican.

“Jenna, I love the way your photos remind us that presidents may be powerful, but in the end they are just people — fathers, sons, grandfathers, etc. I can’t imagine what it must have been like growing up in your family, but thank you for giving us a glimpse into it,” one wrote. “I had the privilege of meeting your grandfather once and having a brief conversation. He was a wonderful man.”

Another added, “A great man, miss him a bunch, the worlds not the same without GHWB and his beautiful wife. They were always together.”

In November 2018, George died at age 94 after he was in failing health for years. He’s “survived by his five children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two siblings,” a statement released by Jim McGrath, a spokesman for him, said at the time. “He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years; his second child Pauline Robinson ‘Robin’ Bush; and his brothers Prescott and William or ‘Bucky’ Bush.”

We’ll always miss you, George!
