So SadHugh Jackman’s Anxiety Nearly Ended His Acting Career
Oh no!
Hugh Jackman may be one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get nervous when he’s in front of the camera.
The 48-year-old star — who is most known for his role in all eight movies of The Wolverine — recently revealed he was super nervous while filming X Men back in 2000, which almost led him to get fired from the gig!

“I was freaking out,” he admitted. At the time, the studio executive Tom Rothman gave him a pep talk to calm his nerves.
“He had a gut feeling that I was the guy but [my acting] was… average, to be honest,” Hugh recalled. “I thought I was getting away with it, but I wasn’t.”

Hugh’s wife of 20 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, is also a big support system to the star. In a previous interview, he gushed about their perfect marriage.
“She and I met before [I got famous]… She’s the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and it gets better and better,” Hugh said of his unconditional love for the actress.
“I’m kind of really grateful that [we] met before [I got famous], because everything that’s happened in my career and onscreen, offscreen, we’ve always done it together,” he continued. “[Twenty-one] years and two kids later [here we are].”
The Les Misérables star and Deborra-Lee, 61, first met on the set of Australian soap opera Correlli during the mid-1990s. The couple — who married in April 1996 — are now parents to two adopted children, son Oscar, 16, and daughter Ava, 11.

“Through acting, I’m able to find a level of bliss and peace and calm and joy. And it feels natural,” he said.
