Hugh Jackman and his wife are sadly mourning the loss of a close family member.

Hugh's spouse Deborra-Lee Furness' mother, Fay Duncan, died at age 81 on Sunday, Aug. 28 after battling a long illness. Following Fay's passing, the Les Misérables star took to Instagram to pay a touching tribute to his late mother-in-law.

"I'm blessed to say Fay Duncan was my mother-in-law. She was one of the greatest women I've ever met. Wise, funny, loving, cheeky, generous and a true leader. She had an incredible gift for always being right… which must have been a true burden for her as she was also incredibly patient with us mere mortals. Fay, I love you more than words can express," the 47-year-old actor captioned a photo of himself with Fay.
