It’s Been 18 Years Since ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas’ Hit Theaters — See The Cast Now!

If you’re anything like us, you were a huge fan of Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas when you were a kid. And let’s be real, we’re still fans well into our adult lives…

Since the hit flick hit theaters 18 years ago (boy does time fly!) and being that it’s the holiday season, we decided to see what all our favorite cast members are up to now and how different they look today from back then (they all wore some super funky makeup and costumes in the movie!).

We were surprised to learn that Taylor Momsen (who played the adorable Cindy Lou Who) put her acting career on the back-burner to be part of her rock band The Pretty Reckless. In a previous interview with People, Taylor, 25, shared how her acting background has impacted her music career.

“I think the biggest misconception with that is people thought that that was gonna help because I had some sort of fan base from acting,” she once said. “In reality, it really worked against me and the band because I think I had to work harder than if I had just been a chick in a band from the get-go; people had a lot of misconceptions and a lot of doubts — if it was real, if it was just gonna be a fling.”

And while the once-little girl has clearly grown up since the movie (who remembers her stint as Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl?), it’s nice to know that she still holds How the Grinch Stole Christmas near and dear to her heart. Back in December 2015, she tweeted a video of herself as Cindy Lou Who singing “Where Are You Christmas?” “It’s that time of year again… happy holidays everyone,” she wrote. So sweet!
