So what do you do when you’ve starred in classic films like Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music? Well if you’re Julie Andrews you go ahead and find yourself a role in one of the most hyped up films on the slate.

That’s right, folks, according to Entertainment Weekly, the 83-year-old actress will be in yet another popular movie. And no, it will not be Mary Poppins Returns for some reason, it will actually be in DC’s Aquaman. But it will not be her typical role as Julie will actually be voicing a creature known as the Karathen. EW reveals that the Karathen is a mythical being that lives undersea and is important to Aquaman, who is played by Jason Momoa, who is also known as the guy who women wish their husband looked like.

Peter Safran, the Aquaman producer, had this to say to the mag: “We wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, albeit somewhat digitally altered. And when we found out Julie was interested and available and excited to do it, casting her was a no-brainer.”

If there is one thing that The Little Mermaid taught us all is that sometimes underwater creatures have accents. And it sounds like Karathen will have quite the British accent.

“Who knew that Aquaman would have the real Mary Poppins this Christmas?” Safran added. And speaking of Mary Poppins, while Julie won’t be back to play the classic character in the sequel, Emily Blunt will play her instead. And this is a role that director Rob Marshall made sure that Emily played.

“Rob basically said, ‘If you don’t want to do this with us, we are going to find something else, because we won’t do it if you don’t want to,” Emily said a few weeks back.

Aquaman is out on December 21, with Mary Poppins Returns opening just two days before that.
