How sweet! Legendary actor Kirk Douglas turned 102 on Sunday, Dec. 9, and his daughter-in-law, Catherine Zeta-Jones, honored her father-in-law in a special way to celebrate his milestone birthday.

“Happy 102nd Birthday to the most beautiful man. We love you, Kirk,” she captioned a black and white photo montage of Kirk with his grandchildren and more on Instagram. Catherine’s daughter, Carys, now 15, could be heard singing “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera in the background as a video of her on the piano as a little girl played in the background.

Michael Douglas’ wife has proven time and time again how close she is with Kirk. When the actor made a rare appearance at the 2018 Golden Globes, Catherine joined him onstage for the special moment.

“Thank you. In 1991, my father-in-law, this living Hollywood legend, Kirk, was recognized by the Writer’s Guild for his role in ending the Hollywood blacklist,” Catherine, 49, shared before the standing ovation from the crowd. “He not only hired blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo to write the epic Spartacus, but he also had Trumbo receive his proper screen credit for his work.”

After Catherine finished praising her beloved father-in-law, Kirk sweetly chimed in to say, “I wasn’t going to speak, because I could never follow you.”

Kirk’s public appearances have been few and far between over the past few years, but since his stroke 20 years ago, his health has been steady. “I was lucky enough to find my soulmate 63 years ago, and I believe our wonderful marriage and our nightly ‘golden hour’ chats have helped me survive all things,” he previously shared of his wife, Anne Buydens, with Closer during an exclusive interview.

He concluded: “I am always asked for advice on living a long and healthy life. I don’t have any. I do believe, however, that we have a purpose for being here. I was spared after a helicopter crash and a stroke to do more good in the world before I leave it.”
