The Mask of Zorro actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has already gotten tired of sharing her birthday with her husband, Michael Douglas. The 74-year-old actor revealed his wife’s recent confession during his Live! with Kelly and Ryan appearance on Thursday, Nov. 15, and shared that his wife is done with having joint parties on their special day.

“We both have the same birthday, 25 years apart,” Michael shared on the show. “It sounded very romantic at the time when we first got together. That was the closer — the same birthday. Now she hates it! She wants her own day. She wants her own day, her own time.”

Michael and Catherine, 49, were both born on Sept. 25. This year, she gave her husband a sweet shout-out on his birthday by posting a video of him to Instagram. In the short film, she used clips of Michael in the 1995 film The American President.

Catherine captioned the post, “Happy Birthday to my very own President! My husband Michael. I guess that makes me First Lady! Stranger things have happened! Go figure😂oops, it’s my birthday today too.😘”

On Nov. 18, Michael and Catherine will also be celebrating their 18-year-wedding anniversary. When they were once asked how they’ve stayed together for so long, Catherine explained that it has a lot to do with not giving up on each other.

“It’s a long road and I think people today are so quick to throw in the towel on marriage,” she said in a 2016 interview. “You have to give it your best shot and not give up when the first problem arises, because that won’t be the last problem. There will be many more down the road.”

In a previous interview with Closer, Michael also said that Catherine, “never ceases to amaze” him. He continued, “I’m so proud of her.”
