If only we could all be as stunning (and fit!) as Carrie Underwood! In a new interview, the 34-year-old country star candidly opened up about her usual workout routine — and revealed she only exercises one to two times per week to maintain her enviable figure. “I used to work out six days a week. But now that’s a little rare, sometimes it’s one or two times a week and that just kind of has to be ok. And it is ok because whatever I’m doing that’s keeping me out of the gym is important,” Carrie recently confessed to E! Online. Watch the video below to see more of Carrie’s workout secrets!
So why has Carrie cut down on her workouts the past few years? Well, for starters, she welcomed her first child, son Isaiah, in February 2015! “He probably will, 90 percent of the time, wander into my workout session. But it’s nice to be able to stop and give him a kiss,” she said. The past American Idol winner also enjoys exercising with her husband, former pro hockey player Mike Fisher. “Mainly, when we work out together, we’re just working out in the same space,” Carrie said. “But I will say, the other day I was doing the ab wheel… and later on that day, Mike said something like, ‘I’m not ready for the ab wheel yet.'” Too cute!
Carrie has admitted regular exercise not only helps her feel physically fit but also mentally strong. “My mental state is just so much better if I get out and move. If you have the opportunity, you should do that for yourself. Because it’s only going to make you a better person,” she said in a recent interview. So, what’s the singer’s overall workout advice? “Just do the best you can. And then cut yourself some slack,” she has said. We can live with that!
