Even celebrities sometimes break the law — and suffer the consequences! Carrie Underwood took to Twitter on Monday, Jan. 29 to reveal that she had been recently pulled over for the first time, receiving her first speeding ticket ever, and her reaction is pretty relatable. No one ever forgets the first time they were pulled over, and it doesn’t look like Carrie will be forgetting her experience anytime soon. Scroll down to see her tweet!

Luckily, the 34-year-old was clearly extremely apologetic for her run-in with the law. In fact, we don’t think she’ll be breaking any rules in the near future! “Well, it happened today. After 18 years, I can no longer say I’ve never been pulled over for speeding. I feel so ashamed! I may or may not have cried in my car after the cop let me go. #RuleFollower #GrannyDriver #ImSorry,” she wrote.

In recent months, Carrie has been recovering from a scary fall she took outside her home in Nashville back in November, breaking her wrist and injuring her face in the process. The country music singer underwent surgery to repair her wrist and had to get approximately 40 stitches in her face. Ouch! She’s been candid about her difficult recovery, saying, “It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.”

“In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. Now, here we are seven weeks later and, even though I’ve had the best people helping me, I’m still healing and not quite looking the same,” Carrie wrote in a message to her fan club. “I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful. I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way.”

“I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different. I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up.” Stay strong, Carrie!
