Even though Candace Cameron Bure‘s husband, Valeri Bure, doesn’t play hockey anymore, he still got the best shout-out from his wife when his former Missouri team, the St. Louis Blues, won the 2019 Stanley Cup a day before his June 13 birthday.

“In honor of @stlouisblues Stanley Cup win last night … I’m choosing this pic of my hubby to wish him a happy birthday today 🎉🍾!” Candace, 43, wrote on Instagram about her husband turning 45 years old. “He won’t see this, he’s not on social media, and my best birthday gift I could give him is to not come back to Instagram all day. You might want to leave him a message if you have his number but he doesn’t have voicemail either. He’s a special one and I’m glad he’s mine 😉. #Champion #Legend #Icon #8 #13.”

The Fuller House star shared her heartwarming post with a throwback photo of Valeri in his St. Louis Blues uniform. “Oh I love everything about this! Happy birthday to your love! Wishing you a beautiful day together. ❤️,” Candace’s friend Danica McKellar wrote in the comments section. Melissa Joan Hart added, “You guys are #goals! ✨♥️.”

Candace, 43, and Valeri have been married since 1996 and have three kids — Natasha, 20, Lev, 19, and Maksim, 17 — together. What’s the secret to their long marriage? Well, Candace once told People the “glue” for them is “Jesus.”

“It’s the Bible,” she gushed. “You know, when there are arguments or we’re compromising and in ways, it’s always like, ‘Well, let’s just go back to the Bible.’ It’s the foundation for us. So it’s not about winning or losing. But doing this journey together.”

It also helps that their kids aren’t very young anymore. Since they’re older, Candace and Valerie get to spend more alone time together. “We do like to travel and get away from everything here at home in L.A., and from our kids, as much as we love them,” she said. “We want alone time, you know what I mean? And our kids are older too.”

Don’t worry, girl. We understand!
