Looking lovely! Betty White is still enjoying life to the fullest, as she was recently spotted taking a stroll in Santa Monica.

The 97-year-old (that’s right, 97!) was seen on a rare public outing while being assisted by a gentleman. The beloved Golden Girls legend was looking her best too — she wore a colorful turquoise blouse, with matching colored pants and black shoes. But what is the actress’ secret to still going strong? “She lives on hot dogs and vodka,” Betty’s former Hot in Cleveland costar Wendie Malick once exclusively told Closer Weekly in an interview.

“It’s her secret weapon. I don’t think it’s for everyone — don’t try it at home!” the Just Shoot Me alum, 68, added.

While Wendie revealed that the acting icon is all about hot dogs and vodka, a friend close to the star knows that that certain eating habit is working. “We tease her that she has the diet of a 15-year-old boy,” the pal joked to Closer Weekly in another interview. “She figures she’s made it this far in her life eating whatever she likes, so there’s no reason to stop now.”

The Mary Tyler Moore Show alum might be up there in age, but she can still party it up! “She can drink me under the table, she can swear me under the table and she can remember her lines better than me. She’s a rock star!” Lea Thompson, who worked with Betty on 2003’s TV movie Stealing Christmas, also once told Closer.

Getting older also has its advantages, as Betty once revealed to Closer that “you get spoiled rotten.” She added, “People bring you a chair, even if you don’t want to sit down. The fact that I have this kind of health at this age is really a blessing.”

She continued, “The fact that people still ask me and find things for me to do, I’m thrilled. There are those who think I’m going to be around forever, and they could be right!”

Last year, after turning 96, a close friend revealed that Betty isn’t looking to slow down from working. “She told me, ‘I’m going to be in the saddle forever,’” Steven J. Boettcher, who co-directed the documentary, Betty White: First Lady of Television, exclusively told Closer Weekly. “She loves working; she loves the challenge. She’s someone that we’re all better off for that she’s lived this long.”
