Though Anne Hathaway‘s glamorous Hollywood life may look picture-perfect to some, the 36-year-old actress assures that she too deals with a ton of stress and looks to her peers for advice during trying times. And, surprisingly, one way the mom-of-one copes with the pressures of her day to day life in the spotlight is (wait for it) Instagram!

While speaking to Town & Country for the magazine’s February 2019 issue — hitting newsstands on Tuesday, Jan. 15! — Anne revealed her expert tips for managing stress. “Set a timer on your phone, have a candle nearby, and write it all down. You spew it out. You do not read it. The timer goes off, you tear it out of the book, and you light it on fire. All of this energy, this angst, this rage — everything is smoke,” she shared.

As for how she handles social media, Anne admitted that Instagram has actually allowed her to “calm down and communicate” better with her many fans and followers. “Having the ability to do something on my own terms has been good for me. It has allowed me to calm down and communicate in a way that’s more clear,” she explained.

After nearly 20 years in showbiz, Anne is considered an old acting pro by many, but The Devil Wears Prada star and Oscar winner confessed she still feels “lucky” to have achieved all of her Hollywood success. “A part of me just has to be aware that whatever it’s asking me of me, I’m incredibly lucky to be the one who’s being asked,” she said. Thankfully, Anne noted she regularly draws strength from other women in the industry when times do get tough. “You just believe that more is possible,” she told Town & Country. “You’re a little bit braver and you want to dig a little bit deeper, you know?”
