Hollie Lobosky has always been “thin and fit,” but when she became pregnant with twins in 2013, she packed on nearly 70 pounds.
So Hollie set out on a weight loss journey by following the ‘POUND’ home fitness program — a cardio-based, strength training workout regimen focusing on drumming motions using lightly weighted drumsticks. The 39-year-old Californian has since shed an impressive 30 pounds!
“I am fitting into regular jeans and [am] out of my maternity clothes,” the Venice native exclusively told ‘Closer.’ “I feel great!”

- What was your life like before the weight loss?
I was generally thin and fit, but when I hit my mid-30s, weight slowly started to creep on and it became more difficult to lose. I didn’t really experience an extreme weight gain until I got pregnant with my twin boys in spring 2013. After being diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, I ended up gaining 70 pounds during my pregnancy.
- How did you get started with your weight loss journey?
I discovered ‘POUND’ — which looked like something fun, relatively quick and easy — so I [gave it] a try. My amazing husband offered to take care of the boys every morning before he went to work so I could have the time I needed to get in my workouts. Thanks to him, I got the kickstart I needed to get back on a healthy track.

- What diet and exercise regimen did you follow?
I put myself on a strict schedule, following the ‘POUND: Rockout Results System.’ Every morning, I would wake up, do an Elixir shot and then get in my workout. The workout was fun and the music was inspiring. I didn’t feel like I was working out, but I was breaking a sweat. The drumming element of ‘POUND’ helped me get out some stress and frustration, so I always came away from my workouts with a smile on my face. On the #HitTheStreets days I would hike or do stairs to get out in the sunshine. I also completely changed what I was eating. Following the diet laid out in the program, I started eating seven small meals a day. [I ate] tons of veggies, lean proteins and a balance of healthy fats, like almond butter, and [cut] out starches, sugar and alcohol to turn my body into a fat burning machine. Plus, water, water, water. That is all I drank, with the exception of an occasional tea.

- How does it feel now that you’ve lost the weight?
I feel great. I have more energy and I stamina. I am still 20 pounds away from my goal, but I am getting closer to reaching it every day. I look forward to my workouts now and my regimented schedule has become an easy routine for me to follow. I am fitting into regular jeans and out of my maternity clothes. In fact, I just gave everything away to a girlfriend who is pregnant so there is no chance to slip back into old patterns!
