Tracy Morgan is back!

The 46-year-old actor returned to the stage for the first time since surviving a scary car crash last June at tonight’s Emmys. Tracy looked healthy and happy as he made a surprise appearance at the award show to present the award for Outstanding Drama Series to Game of Thrones.

“Last year, Jimmy Kimmel said, we’d see you here next year, Tracy Morgan. Thanks to my doctors and my beautiful wife, I’m here standing on my own two feet. God bless all you for your love, prayers and positive thoughts for the past 15 months. I’m honored to be here at the Emmys,” he began as he stepped onstage to a standing ovation from the audience.

“It’s been a long road back,” he went on. “I suffered a traumatic brain injury that put me in a coma for eight days.”

“When I finally regained consciousness, I was ecstatic to learn I wasn’t the one who messed up,” he joked. “Only recently I’ve started to feel like myself again.”

Tracy suffered a broken leg, nose and ribs in addition to a traumatic brain injury when a Walmart truck slammed into a limo van carrying the star and his friends on the New Jersey Turnpike in June 2014. His pal, James McNair, was killed in the accident. The star then spent 10 days in the ICU before entering a rehab facility to undergo extensive physical therapy.
