Carl Philip, 36, and his wife previously announced they are expecting their first baby in October with an official statement via the Swedish Royal Court. “We are so happy and excited to announce that we are expecting our first child. We are very much looking forward to it,” the royal couple said.

The newborn baby will be the fifth in line to succession to the Swedish throne. Carl Philip’s older sister, Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, 38—who is pregnant with her second child—is currently the heir apparent and will ascend to the throne when her father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, 69, either passes away or abdicates his title.

Carl Philip and Sofia—who became engaged in June 2014—married in June in a lavish royal wedding.
