For an 18-month-old who already has everything, it’s hard to believe Prince George still managed to receive nearly 800 gifts during his trips abroad.
According to an official list released by the royal family, over 600 came from his first official tour to Australia and New Zealand with parents Prince William and Kate Middleton — including items of clothing, toys and plenty of sports equipment!
In comparison, Queen Elizabeth II, the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, received just over 100. Clearly babies trump rulers.
Here are some of the best and strangest presents George acquired in 2014.
- Giant Stuffed Wombat — a gift from Australia’s Governor General, Sir Peter Cosgrove.
Possum Skin Cloak — a gift from Australia’s Gundungurra Tribal Council Aboriginal Corporation.
Basketball Jersey — a gift from NBA player LeBron James.
Miniature Academic Gown — a gift from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s alma mater, The University of St. Andrews
Surfboard — a gift from the Mayor of Manly on behalf of Manly Council and Surf City Manly Australia.
Multiple Pairs of Sheepskin Boots — gifted during the official tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Baby-sized Cycling Jersey With HRH Prince George Printed on the Back — gifted from Avanti founder, John Struthers, during the tour of New Zealand.
