Is Megyn Kelly Today at its end after just one year on the air? Maybe! Megyn Kelly has been under fire the past few days following her racist comments about blackface during her series on Tuesday, Oct. 23, and now, it’s been reported that she may not return to her eponymous talk show (the same one that’s suffered bad ratings since it debuted last September).

Rumors really flourished when a pre-recorded show from Aug. 31 was aired in the 9 a.m. slot on Thursday, Oct. 25 instead of a new episode starring Megyn. “Given the circumstances, Megyn Kelly Today will be on tape the rest of the week,” an NBC spokeswoman said.

However, according to People, Megyn could be off the show for good before 2019 starts.“She is expecting to leave the Today show at the end of the season in December,” a source told the news outlet. Before this controversy, Megyn was allegedly working to get her position changed internally to cover political news more in-depth. But now, her future at the network is unknown. “People at the Today show are not happy with Megyn right now,” the insider said, adding that “nobody knows what is going to happen with her now.”

On top of all of this, it’s also been said that Megyn has parted ways with her talent agency, CAA. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that she has also hired an attorney named Bryan Freedman. CAA declined to comment, but she allegedly fired them since they also rep NBC News president Noah Oppenheim and it’s a conflict of interest.

After Megyn questioned what was racist about a blackface Halloween costume, she apologized both in an email to her colleagues and to viewers on the air. “I want to begin with two words: I’m sorry,” she said at the top of Wednesday morning’s show. “You may have heard that yesterday we had a conversation about political correctness and Halloween costumes… I defended the idea (of blackface), saying that as long it was respectful and part of a Halloween costume, that it seemed OK. Well, I was wrong, and I am sorry.”

She added, “I have never been a PC kind of person” but she learned from the backlash over her statements that “it is not OK for (blackface) to be part of any costume, Halloween or otherwise. This past year has been so painful for many people of color,” Megyn continued. “The country feels so divided and I have no wish to add to that pain and offense. I believe this is a time for more understanding, more love, more sensitivity and honor, and I want to be part of that. Thank you for listening and for helping me listen too.” We’re so curious to see how all of this will unfold…
