It seems we weren't the only ones surprised when Prince Harry announced his engagement to Meghan Markle last November! Apparently, Meghan's Suits co-star Amanda Schull was stunned by the news herself.
"I was surprised! But at the same time, it seems like they both had some pretty big things to pursue themselves," the actress told Us Weekly in a new interview. "I wish them the best of luck in all of their new adventures. They are both really lovely, lovely people."
Amanda proceeded to gush over how great of a person Meghan was to work with. "The same generosity and kindness applies to Meghan. Every single time I worked with Meghan she was so prepared and so focused with her work on camera. And then the second the cameras stopped rolling she would just be so focused and interested in what was going on with me and open with what was going on with her," she added. "She was just always such an open, lovely, generous person from the very first day I met her."
During her first official interview with Harry after announcing their engagement, Meghan shared she'd be leaving her career in Hollywood behind to move to London for a life of royalty ahead of their May 19 wedding. "I think what’s been so exciting [transitioning] out of my career and into, as you said, the causes I can focus even more energy on, very early out of the gate, [is that you] have a voice that people listen to, a lot of responsibility," she said at the time.
Meghan added, "I see it is a new change, a new chapter. I’ve been working on my show seven years, we were so fortunate to have that longevity, and I feel like I checked that box and am very proud of the work I’ve done there."
