A royal engagement means a new lifestyle for Meghan Markle! Now that the actress is set to wed Prince Harry, her small screen career is coming to an end, which means she is leaving Suits after Season 7. Her final episode playing paralegal Rachel Zane on the popular series aired on Wednesday, April 25.
Viewers got to see the last of Rachel Zane after seven years as she married her longtime boyfriend Mike Ross (played by Patrick J. Adams) during the episode. However, the wedding scene wasn't what we're picturing for her nuptials with Harry (how funny that she's ending her TV career with a wedding). The event was quickly organized so the on-screen pair could move to Seattle to start new careers.

In the emotional scene, Meghan walked down the aisle to the song "All of Me" by John Legend. "From the second I met you, I knew I wanted to be here with you some day – walking down the aisle arm in arm," Mike said, to which Rachel replied, "You're the husband I've always wanted and I can't wait to begin our adventure together."
Meghan announced her real-life adventure in November when she got engaged to Harry and revealed she'd be quitting her acting career. "I think what’s been so exciting [transitioning] out of my career and into, as you said, the causes I can focus even more energy on, very early out of the gate, [is that you] have a voice that people listen to, a lot of responsibility," Meghan said in her first official interview with Harry last fall. "There’s a lot to do," Harry added.
"I see it is a new change, a new chapter," Meghan added. "I’ve been working on my show seven years, we were so fortunate to have that longevity, and I feel like I checked that box and am very proud of the work I’ve done there."
In mid-November, Us Weekly reported that Meghan wasn't the only one preparing for her exit, but so was Patrick. "She isn’t the main cast member on the show, and quite frankly, everyone already thinks she’s not coming back," said an insider at the time, explaining that the show will continue without her. "[Patrick] was always leaving the show. He made his mind up a while ago," continued the source. "Patrick wants to pursue other things and he’s realized his time at Suits has come to an end. They were waiting for Gabriel Macht to sign. He’s going back so there will be a season 8 and as of now, 9."
Patrick confirmed the news on Twitter last night. "Tonight my last episode of Suits ever is airing. Weird. Hope it doesn't disappoint. Thank you to everyone who turned an audition into 7 surreal years of my life. Hope you enjoy it. I know I have. Peace," he wrote.

In October, the UK's The Daily Star Sunday said that the 36-year-old actress had quit the hit USA legal drama amid rumors she and Harry would announce their royal engagement by Christmas (they announced it days after Thanksgiving). Meghan reportedly told Suits execs she would not return for the series' upcoming eighth season.
"Meghan knows she can't really act at the same time as being a princess and is happy to make this career sacrifice," a source told the news outlet in mid-October. "She really enjoys her charity work with Unicef and will broaden out her charity commitments when she becomes a full-time royal."
Interestingly, a source told E! Online earlier this year that Meghan was "ready to be done with Suits" and with "acting in general." "Even before Harry, she was starting to think about transitioning out of acting," an insider revealed at the time. "She wants to focus on other worldly endeavors she is passionate about, like her philanthropy."
Grazia Daily recently reported that Suits showrunners were attempting to give Meghan's character, Rachel, a more juicy storyline in hopes of keeping the royal-in-training on the series for another season. "Meghan will have a storyline in Season 7 which will see her have children. The producers must be keen for her to stay on until [Season 8] because of all of the attention the show is getting," a source told the entertainment news outlet. "There’s no doubt that ratings are going to soar because of her. They don’t want the spotlight on the show to end."

Rumors also abounded that Meghan was ready to leave Hollywood after she shut down her popular lifestyle blog, The Tig, in April 2017. "After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it's time to say goodbye to The Tig," she announced last spring. "What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun, and frivolity. You've made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy… Thank you for everything."
